The Condor was manufactured with one mission in mind: To penetrate Romulan space and collect as much intel as possible for as long as possible. Although the mission was a tactical success, Klingon warriors sing no songs of the 17 months this ship and her crew of 23 spent deep inside the Romulan Empire. Sadly, there is no glory in spying.
Equipped with the most advanced sensors in the Empire and supplemented with scanning arrays acquired covertly from other races via back channel dealings, the Condor-class was a Klingon anomaly in every sense. Armed only with standard disruptors and a pair of disruptor cannons and capable of only modest warp speeds, stealth was this vessel's primary asset.
The ship and her crew were forced to leave Romulan space when the cloaking device began to fail and detection became imminent. She fought her way past several patrols before reaching the safety of Klingon space with invaluable information about Romulan defenses, ships, bases and shipping lanes.
After their prolonged time together in close quarters the 23 members of the crew never spoke after the mission ended. No reunion is planned.
The main body of the model is from an AMT Bird of Prey with half of an Imperial Shuttle cockpit glued on top. The wings are from an AMT Imperial Shuttle with styrene "sensor feathers" added. The top of the bridge, neck and engines are all from a Klingon D7. The bottom on the bridge is half of an AMT Droid Fighter. The lower neck fin is from a Monogram Viper with guns from an Imperial Shuttle. The underside struts are from a Monogram Kazon Ship. There are some X-wing engines on the rear tail.
Each wing has a disrupter pod mounted underneath made from D7 parts and screws. They're attached with fabric snaps that allow them to rotate.
