Every once in a while I come across a product I didn't know I just have to have. Scale Solutions' latest kitbash/scratchbuilding accessory kit ' Rocket Motor SBS #1' is just such a thing.

What You Get

The “kit” is comprised of a single resin piece. You can order it in packs of two or four pieces. My set of four arrived snugly packaged inside pockets cut into styrofoam packing. Each piece consists of an engine bell with various wiring, tubing and tankage attached. Detail is quite sharp, as you can see in the pictures.

Casting is nice, with no pits, bubbles or sinkholes. Each piece in my sample does have some flash around the mold seams. The resin is a very dense, heavy type and the flash will take a bit of carving to remove - nothing that should take more than a few minutes though.

Conclusions

When I saw these on the Scale Solutions website I knew exactly where I could use them. They're the perfect detail for a scratchbuild that has been languishing on the shelf for a while awaiting inspiration. These motors are a good size, nicely cast and (I feel) an excellent value for the price.

Highly recommended!
