USS Demeter, NCC-30097, Merced-class. Named for the Greek earth goddess. The Merced-class is one of those conjectural classes we've heard about, but never seen on Trek; the USS Trieste was part of the class. I'll be the first to admit that this design was HEAVILY influenced by the design for the Niagara-class, but I think it's different enough that I'm OK. The saucer (both dorsal & ventral) in the "interior" section of a 1/2500 Galaxy saucer that had the outer edges oddly marred by some bizzaro design I'd built about 8 years ago. The nacelles are extra Galaxy ones I had floating around, while the secondary hull & twin upper pylons are from the 1/2500 Ambassador kit. The lower pylon is a section of the big Miranda kit's "rollbar" that I had lying around. With the success of my hatches on Jericho, I put them here as well. |
