Tech Level 13 Track Layer

By Brian Thewlis

This is a Mid Tech AFV still using traditional traction means with new drive technology. Compact and fast, it carries 2 crew in a low slung, low silhouette vehicle. It mounts a 150MM Gauss Cannon, using an autoloader and firing Adamite Enhanced Flechette rounds. As they say in the manuals " Energy weapons are good, but power intensive, whereas nothing stops a vehicle like a good dose of Kinetic energy".

The model started life as a 1//35 Dragon T-80. The basic hull was used but a new forward compartment was added on the glacis plate. Other additions were made to the rear hull by surgically adding the rear of an M1 Abrams. The turret was fashioned from a BMP-2 APC with 12.7mm MG; the main gun is Evergreen rod and strip. The magazine and autoloader were "kit-bashed" from the T-80, Abrams M1 and other AFV kits. Added to the sides of the hull is the a plastic card box that has 4 modules, each of which have 3 road wheels. Tracks are straight from the T-80 kit. A "temperate foliage" scheme finished the model off with a few decals.
