Jet Bike

Sponsorship opportunities available ------ Ask us about them!

by Owen Top

Scale: 1/24

This model was built in a day, unlike Rome. I was inspired by the jet bike from Hal Spacejock: Second Course (a novel by Simon Haynes). The model simply consists of the upper bodywork of a 1/24 Yahama super bike strapped to a 1/32 soviet jet engine with the blast deflectors from a 1/48 F-105 attached to the nose and a nice big pointy thing (presumably for stabbing pedestrians with) made from the tip of a missile from the same kit.

I painted the engine in various Tamiya metalics and the bodywork with auto touch up paint. From the code on the can, I assume it's the shade Subaru use on their WRX rally cars, but I am not sure. The body work has been polished using car polish, and I even tried polishing the engine, but it didn't really have any effect.
