The Year 0079 UC
( from 2045 the Universal Century starts with the Year 00UC )
After the one Year War between the Earth Alliance (EFM) and the new Republic
"Principality of Zeon" the Earth was devastated and more of 50% from the population of
10 billion died after a Space Colony crashed down to the Australian continent
with a 60.000 Megaton Blast like 3 Million Hiroshima Bombs. From this time the whole Earth was occupied by the Zeon Forces.
The backbone of the Zeon Army where the new Mobile-Weapons: Mobile Suits, humanlike machines, 20m high with strong plated armor and powerful,
oversized Machineguns. This Vehicles simply called ZAKUS (taken from Zeon Air Command). The MS-Zaku-02 was the first mass-produced MS (the product of 3111 MS from UC 0078-0080 ). After War the MS-06 type was ready for his mMission on Earth as a Desert-Type, Marine, Mine-Layer, AWACS, etc.
In the Years of Occupation on Earth, many MS Units changed into lots of different
custom modes and no MS was same as the other. "Pimp my Mecha!" was the call of the Zeon MS-Pilots, when they turned back to the bases after a mission and most of the mechanic teams where really overworked. So many Zakus were upgraded and pimped up with a lot of special equipments, powerful weapons and stronger armor.

The diorama shows a typical Zeon MS base in the Desert of the Arabian Distrikt.
The scale is 1:144. There are two Zaku MS-06 in the back on the Service-Station:

MS-06V Zaku Tank - Heavy-Arms Custom Version
This vehicle, made from a Magella Battle-Tank Chassis modified with the body from a
Zaku MS-06 is perfect for desert-like landscapes. Usually the Zaku tank is a worker unit, but it's also possible to wear a lot of heavy arms! This hybrid Tank-MS is upgraded with new armor pipes,90mm Rapid-Fire Anti Air Machinegun x2, 120mm Machine Cannon x 3, Anti-MS Torpedos x 2, Anti-Air Missiles x4, Plasma-Impulse Flak x 4
In the front, covered with a camouflage net, we can see a Magella battle tank, standard
version: 175mm Main Battle Cannon, 35mm Machinegun, 120mm Machine Cannon x 3
In the air, high over the desert, an Assault Aircraft-Carrier "Gau" with the
wingspan of 156,00 Meters flies over the base. ( Scale: 1:1200 )
It seems that 2 new Zakus are dropping down to earth...... and they will be Desert Kings.
The model kts of the Zakus ( Bandai ) I used, are from the early 80s and if you build
them straight out of the Box, they look little too simple. So I had to do a lot of Modifications for a realistic cooler "pimped up look"...
For each MS I used a lot of tiny plastic parts from different kits and some metal parts like
brass pipes, wire, steel-springs and steel-net. Some weapon-units I built from scratch, like the Cluster-Grenade Launcher, the Missile Pod, the Grenade Launcher and the Plasma-Impulse Flak.
The Landscape and the Rocks are molded from Polystyrol-Foam and plaster on a wooden plate. The desert base itself is made from scratch, with parts taken from different kits and plastic bottles, upgrade units for model train stuff and some Option Kits from Kotobukiya.
Some of the Zeon soldiers are taken from new Gundam kits like the Samson Trailer, some of them are from a Fire Fighters kit.
