Fancy paints, flashy lights, noisy boombox and expensive gadgets are
for kids... Here is adult stuff !
During 2070, climatic conditions and pollution levels are at the extreme, despite technological advances. The political climate is at its worst too. America is now the Black Sheep of the planet and responsible for the degradation of its environment. Through its drinking water supplies, Quebec is hardly in a better situation than the rest of Canada and has even gained its independence. In space colonies on the Moon, Mars, Ceres, Astriex and other mining stations, fearing an invasion from Earth, are also seeking their autonomy.
Some nostalgic citizens are still dreaming of going back to the "better" conditions of the previous century. The era where people could stay under the sun more than 10 minutes and when they could live without a state of SMOG alert virtually all year. Some go as far
as recycle wheeled cars from their dust, their rust, by digging ancient cars cemeterie to restore and adapt these oldies to the new technologies. This is the case for this Pontiac Satellite 1971, a century old. Like a Phoenix (who reborn from its ashes -> hence the flames on those stripes) was retrieved from a dump. Obviously, its fragile materials are not used with the harshest conditions of this new era and hard to keep "as new" (rusting and weathering).
The forces of order have more modern and better equipment, like the Honda WASP. Fifty years after it discontinued its wheeled model "HORNET, Honda came back a few years ago, with this new anti- gravity model. Compact, powerful and very agile, the Wasp quickly seduced the police services of the air around the world and even some colonies. In addition, its vast trunk, profiled like an insect abdomen, provides enough storage for all the necessary equipment for the "WASPER" in the exercise of his duties. Indeed, this is how they called, from the very earliest overlapped, police piloting these motorcycles.

Satellite 2071 (conversion of a 1/24 Plymouth Satellite 1971 from
Revell)
- Interior: Dashboard and central consol modified. A new console added on the ceiling.
- Exterior: Front of the car closed to insert air intake (from a 1/48 F-16). Back of the car opened and frame modified (central rib between turbines scratchbuilt) to insert motors and turbines (rims of a 1/18 car + turbines of a 1/48 fighter). Motors from different parts of 1/24 cars. 4 legs from Tau tank of Warhammer 40K kit. 4 side
thrusters are from two 1/48 harrier jet.
- Paint and Decals: Decals are handmade on computer and print with the Testor decals kit. Paint is lightly weathered and worn to simulate flight in a 2071 atmosphere polluted permanently by SMOG and/or other corrosive dust.
HONDA Wasp (conversion of a 1/24 Honda NS 500 from Heller):
Jet pods are from a 1/144 Gundam mecha. Nose is made from some 1/72
bomber motor, and the rest of the details are from various kits.
Paint and Decals: Decals are handmade on computer and print with the
Testor decals kit. Paint is lightly weathered and less worn then the
car to simulate the better maintenance program of the police force.
Wasp Rider (1/24 Valkyrie figure from Phebus Creations made in France)
This is a resin figure more or less of good quality… so was a
challenge to paint without having to re-sculpt it…
