Starfury Profiles: Other Babylon5 Pilots
KEFFER'SLieutenant Keffer lasted only one season. He was XO, then commander of 'Zeta' Squadron (after the original commander was killed in hyperspace by a chance collision with a Shadow vessel). His fighter sports one of the plainer paint schemes seen - just a few red lines and a magenta/purple chevron. Either the scheme is a 'standard' marking for the leader of 'Zeta' Squadron, or someone liked it a lot, because it shows up again in Season 3. |

DELTA 7Since its debut in the first episode, this craft has been a frequent participant of the show's space combat action. When first seen, this 'Fury sported a battle badge -- presumably from The Line. When seen in later episodes, this badge is absent. The most likely explanation is that the pilot who earned that badge was no longer sharing the fighter. We've been calling this pattern as the "Green Lizard" scheme, since it's reminiscent of the Lizard cammo pattern seen on some modern US military aircraft. The Babylon 5 production offices doubtlessly have another moniker for it. |

SEA WITCHThe 'Sea Witch' is another design often seen since the first episode, usually in brief flybys past the station. Though hard to tell on screen, the design consists of a blonde mermaid superimposed on a blue moon, with the words 'Sea Witch' in white across the top. The primary pilot of this craft is unknown. |

THE WASPThis Fury is seldom seen. It only appears closely in one episode where it serves as an escort to Sinclair. After that it can be seen from time to time in stock footage flybys. |

The 'X'Another one-timer, this ship was only clearly seen in one episode -- shortly before it's destroyed while attacking a Vorlon planet killer. It appears that many fighters carried aboard Earth Force warships carry a letter across the top wing - Hyperion's 'furies wore a blue 'H', for instance. 'X' may then be from one of the ships that joined Sheridan's forces early on, or perhaps an orphan from the Churchill. Our rendition is fairly accurate, however we suspect this ship carried a squadron number. Alas, there is no image reference publicly available to detail this area. |

EARTH ANGELThis ship is seen briefly in several fly-bys -- we think. The details only became clear when Fleer released their 'Starfury Nose Art' cards with the Season 4 set. |

DEATH HEADThis ship is seen briefly in several fly-bys -- the most notable of which occurs as Zeta squadron approaches the Markab ship Cartee in "Confessions and Lamentations". Again, the details only became clear when Fleer released their 'Starfury Nose Art' cards with the Season 4 set. |

SLEEPY TIME GAL"Sleepy Time Gal" is one of the many Babylon 5 wingart schemes inspired by the vintage WW2 nose art of such greats as Alberto Vargas and Al Merkling. In fact, even the name of the craft is taken from a European theater B-17 that served with the 532nd BS. A P-61 Black Widow also shared the name. Though this craft was done for the series, it has not clearly appeared in any scenes, to date. |

SNAKE BITESnake Bite is another WW2 inspired scheme, taking its moniker from the B-29 Snake Bit. The snake is also the the symbol of a Babylon 5 squadron that wears a patch displaying a black snake and the phrase "Snake Attack!" This particular Starfury has a brief and unglamorous debut in the first season episode "Signs and Portents", where it is ambushed by raiders and destroyed during the show's teaser. |

UNIDENTIFIED B5 STARFURIESA number of other Star Furies have been seen on the show that either carry generic markings (seen below) or have not been displayed in enough detail to create a profile. There have also been weapon variants which have appeared. Some of these include: |
